The Biological Physics Lab at the School of Medical Science and Technology (SMST), IIT Kharagpur, is committed to building a diverse, supportive, and interdisciplinary team to investigate the interface of living systems and medical sciences. Our research spans collective cell behaviors, tissue mechanics, and the use of AI and machine learning in healthcare.

We invite motivated and creative individuals to join us in exploring fundamental biological problems and applying physics to advance human health. Our current projects mainly focus on computational modeling and data analysis, conducted in close collaboration with experimental research groups.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students currently enrolled at IIT Kharagpur are welcome to contact us directly for research project opportunities. Those interested in pursuing a PhD with our group are encouraged to apply through the IIT Kharagpur PhD program (School of Medical Science and Technology).
